Jenna and Steven first met at the Rockefeller University Holiday Party on December 17, 2016 - the eve of Jenna's 25th birthday. The two hit it off - chatting non-stop over champagne and charcuterie, and it was instantly clear that they "clicked". Later that evening, a close friend (and mischievous instigator) counted down the seconds to Jenna's birthday and told her she must kiss one of the partygoers for good luck. Of course she chose Steven for that fateful kiss and the rest is history!

In November 2020, Steven found the perfect ring to pop the question to Jenna. Knowing that his future fiance would be likely to snoop, he began taking the ring with him every day to the hospital, hidden in the pocket of his winter jacket. On Jenna's birthday and the anniversary of their first kiss, Steven took Jenna to her favorite Italian restaurant, Supper, for their infamous Chicken Parm (their favorite). He intended to propose that night at the restaurant, but Jenna, always looking to talk to strangers, was busy chatting with the couple at the next table. The evening passed without opportunity to pop the question, so the couple headed back to the Rockefeller University campus, where Steven finally got down on one knee, right where their story began!
