FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alyssa Schlegel and Timothy Esgro
If you have any additional questions beyond what’s listed here, please feel free to reach out to either Tim or Alyssa! :)
Question

How will you communicate with everyone?

Answer

We will be creating a Facebook group where a designated person will post updates throughout the weekend. This will be our primary form of communication. The group has not been created yet, but Alyssa will text everyone once it’s live so you can look for your invitation and join. We encourage you to actively check the group for updates and reach out to the designated contact with any questions during the weekend. We also would love for you to share any photos you take in the group so we can relive the memories and add them to our wedding album!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We recommend Airbnb properties, as they are often one of the most affordable options in Key West. That said, there are truly no bad hotel options when you’re in paradise.

Question

What happens if the weather is bad?

Answer

We are currently working on securing a backup location in the event of inclement weather. We will be creating a Facebook group for active updates throughout the weekend please be sure to be on the lookout for that invite, as that will be our primary form of communication.

Question

Where are the bride and groom staying?

Answer

To accommodate our boats, as most hotels and Airbnb properties in Key West do not allow for boat parking, we will be staying on Little Torch Key. Please note this is approximately 35–40 minutes from Key West.

Question

Is parking difficult in Key West?

Answer

Yes, parking can be limited. When booking your accommodations, we strongly recommend choosing and verifying a property that offers onsite parking.

Question

If I don’t have a boat, how do I get to the ceremony?

Answer

Immediate family and our wedding party will be transported to the island with us. All other guests who wish to attend the ceremony will need to arrange their own boat transportation to and from the island. We would truly love to have you there but completely understand if you’re unable to attend that portion of the weekend. If you do plan to join us, we recommend searching for private captains through FishingBooker.com to assist with transportation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we absolutely adore our nieces and nephews but this will be a 21+ celebration.

Question

How long will the ceremony last?

Answer

Please allow time for travel to and from the island. We do not anticipate being on the island for more than an hour, though timing may fluctuate slightly.

Question

Is Duval Street the reception?

Answer

Duval Street will be an after-party only. We will not be hosting a formal reception. The plan is simply to bar hop and celebrate together all evening.

Question

What time does the Duval Street celebration begin?

Answer

We expect to be on Duval Street between 8:00–8:30 PM. If you are not attending the ceremony, updates will be posted in the Facebook group so you can easily find us.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We will be on an island, and guests will need to step into the water and walk on sand. We do not recommend heels. Think tropical vacation attire; sundresses, linen, shorts, button-downs. You could show up in a relaxed island look and be perfectly dressed.

Question

Can I wear white?

Answer

No. 🤍
