We both met at a fraternity (APO) Valentine's Day fundraiser. Neither of us initially wanted to go to this dance but we both ended up going anyways. We got paired up to be dance partners and learn how to dance from this older gentleman. At first, both of us were just being silly and having fun with it. At the end of the dance lesson, we both parted ways with our friends and did not talk to each other. Later on at another fraternity event (bowling) ,which we were NOT planning on attending, we saw each other once again and greeted each other like we were best friends for life. Coincidentally, we were once again randomly placed on the same team to bowl. Throughout the whole night, we were playing around and being silly like the first time. At the end of the night we both exchanged phone numbers with the promise we would hang out and go clubbing while being each other's wingman/woman. As time progressed, we both started messaging each other more and started learning random facts about each other. Who would have known this was going to develop further on. With both of us busy with work and school, it was difficult having a "date". Therefore, on April 28, 2012, Andy decided to take me on a date to Santa Monica. The whole night was magical and a surprise to me. We were both nervous that night as it was our "official" first date. While we were both riding the Ferris wheel, when the wheel reached the top Andy reached closer to me and asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. Ofcourse I said "YES" in a heart beat and from then on our love kept growing little by little. We ended our night walking down the pier, and had our caricature drawn. It was such a fun way to end the night. While life has had its up and downs, overtime, we've learn to understand, love, and laugh our way through it. Life surely has been good to us.
We had a Japan trip planned with a bunch of our friends. Never would have I imagined that I would returned engaged from my trip. Although there were a few barriers leading up to the trip, the engagement was magical. I was very anxious as to when Andy would decide to propose (borderline psycho). Little did I know, poor Andy had a hard time keeping the engagement a secret and plotted with my friends since I was always nosey. I had always told Andy if he ever wanted to propose to me, he had to make sure I looked good and had my nails done. Sure enough, my friends and I traveled to Japan's Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. We all got dressed up in Kimonos, and got our hair and make up done. We were all excited to explore that area and we were looking gorgeous. All my friends were pestering me and Andy to take engagement shots, but I did not understand their constant push for these "moment" pictures. At some point, I stayed behind with my friends while Andy went ahead with our other friends to find "the perfect spot". After I caught up, we were in the front of the Fushimi Inari Torii. Andy pulled me to the side and said "Lessly come sit here". Me being distracted, I said "Okay, why though?" I didn't see anything special with taking a picture there. All our friends surrounded us and Andy pulled out a book he wrote titled "Tell me something cute". In this book, Andy wrote our whole love story, since the time we met, our disagreements (usually over food), and leading up to "Will you marry me". I could not believe what was happening, all my friends were crying, and I was speechless. I started crying and said "YES!!!". It was the most magical day, and the best thing was that all my friends were there to witness this (and help throughout the process). Special Thanks to all the people that made this possible and had heart attacks, from forcing me to get my nails, distracting me and being my friends. (Bri, Becky, Angie, Alex, and Justine). THANK YOU <3.
