Seven years ago, we first crossed paths at a yoga class at UCF. At the time, we were both in other relationships, and our connection lived within the small yoga circle we were part of. That community became a special part of our college years, but after graduation, everyone drifted into new chapters, and the group slowly faded. Four years later, fate brought us back together. Luis walked into one of Lessie’s yoga classes at a new studio, and this time felt different. Now both single, the connection was instant, but the love for yoga was still the familiar thread that bound us. We began practicing together every day—sometimes even twice a day. Those yoga dates soon turned into tea dates before class, where Luis would lovingly hand Lessie hot tea. Nervous and flustered, she’d sip it even though it was the middle of Florida summer, right before hot yoga, sweating and smiling at the sweetness of the gesture. Before long, yoga was just our excuse—the real joy was the moments before and after, when it was just us. Our love grew naturally—easy, familiar, and undeniable. It didn’t take long for us to realize this was something special. After our first Thanksgiving together, our families felt it too. What began as one holiday gathering has since become a yearly tradition, with the González and Farriss families blending together with the same love that we share. Our partnership has been steady and grounding, not defined by “ups and downs” but by the way we hold space, respect, and love for one another. Moving in together was one of Lessie’s happiest days—now being able to come home every day to her best friend. Through all of medical school, Luis has been her greatest support. She loves the way he grounds her and keeps her present. Luis, in turn, is endlessly motivated by Lessie, inspired by how deeply she believes in him, while cherishing how she embraces his culture and roots. Most importantly, our relationship has deepened our faith. Together, we have come to know and love God in a fuller way, and our partnership has been a constant reminder that love is strongest when it is rooted in Him. Together, we’ve grown not only in love but in community. We built LLL Yoga—Love, Lessie, and Luis—a platform that reflects what we share and what we want to give. This love isn’t just ours. It has been nurtured by our family and friends, who surround us with so much joy and support. That is why this season is so meaningful—because it’s not only a celebration of our love, but of all the love that has carried us here. Thank you for being part of it. Love, Lessie & Luis (LLL)
