Travel

Thank you for traveling to our "destination" wedding! We know this is a long trip for most of our guests, and we're so grateful you would come all this way to celebrate us. If you need help with planning, flights, or figuring out which option makes the most sense, please feel free to reach out to us- we're happy to help!

Hotel

Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre

21 Lakeshore Drive West, Penticton, BC V2A7M5, Canada
 1-(800)-663-9400

Penticton Lakeside Hotel is right on the water and within walking distance of the beach and lots of restaurants. This is where we’ll be staying for the wedding weekend, and it’s also where the wedding shuttle will pick up and drop off all guests on the big day. If you’re staying elsewhere, you’ll still need to go here for the shuttle, as there is no parking at the venue. We have a room block available for arrivals between July 22–26, so, if your schedule allows, you can come early and explore the beautiful Okanagan Valley.
To book within the room block: Call 1-800-663-9400 and mention the Atherton/Erickson Wedding. Please book by April 22, 2026 to receive the discounted rate.

House Or Rental

AirB&B or VRBO

If you prefer not to stay at the hotel, Penticton and the surrounding areas have plenty of beautiful AirB&Bs and VRBOs. You really can’t go wrong! The whole region is gorgeous. How to Get There Penticton is a smaller destination, so most guests will need at least one layover. Below are all the realistic airport options, starting with the closest

Flight

Penticton Regional Airport (YYF)

This is the closest airport to the wedding festivities and is the easiest option if you want the shortest travel time once you land. Penticton Airport is very small, so expect a regional plane and a layover in either Calgary (YYC) – about 1 hr 30 min flight to Penticton, or Vancouver (YVR) – about 55 min flight to Penticton. Important: There are no Ubers/Lyfts in Penticton. You’ll need a taxi or rental car to get around once you land.

Flight

Kelowna International Airport (YLW)

This is the second closest airport - about 50 minute drive to Penticton. This is a great option if you want more flight availability but still want to be close to the wedding once you land. Kelowna Airport (YLW) is slightly bigger than Penticton Airport (YYF). Most routes still have a layover in either Calgary (YYC) - about 1h 15min flight to Kelowna or Vancouver (YVR) - about 1h 5min flight to Kelowna. To get to Penticton, you can: rent a car and enjoy a beautiful drive down the Okanagan Valley, or take a taxi (some Ubers in Kelowna might not go as far as Penticton). If you pass through Kelowna, some of our favorite wineries are there- Mission Hill Family Estate and Cedar Creek Estate Winery are both amazing.

Flight

Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

If your schedule allows for a road trip this is a great option to see Canada. You can fly into Vancouver (YVR) and rent a car and drive to Penticton. This drive is roughly 4-5 hrs. We have never done this route personally but have heard of some amazing spots on the way like natural hot springs.

Flight

Calgary International Airport (YYC)

This is the farthest option, but the most scenic. If you have the time and want a full Canadian experience, we recommend this! You can fly into Calgary and drive 8 hours through the Rocky Mountains to Penticton. We've done this drive many times, and the beautiful scenery makes the time go by quickly. You'll pass popular spots like Banff National Park and Lake Louise, and lots of incredible viewpoints. If you choose this option, please reach out! We're more than happy to help with routes or recommendations.
