We met the first day I was introduced to the kitchen at MC Wilmington. We locked eyes briefly and smiled at one another, and I was quickly moved on to the next part of the facility. As years passed, daily as I’d walk back and forth from my office through the kitchen, Dillyn would be singing corny rap songs, and eventually began to serenade me lol. I’d laugh. One of the Dietary Aids would tell us daily, “Just let it happen, you both know you are meant to be.” “I’d respond, “Franny, you are crazy.” But she was right, on January 24, 2016, DE was hit by a blizzard, and that blizzard, brought us together. It gave me the courage to follow my heart and we thank God everyday for that blizzard.
