The prologue to Leslie and Brendan’s story began at St. Joseph’s in 2001. As 6 year-old Brendan began a yearslong friendship with Leslie’s little sister Beth, he became a frequent visitor at the Infanger home. After only a couple of years in Wilmette, the Infangers were on the move again, this time to Connecticut. Over the next 15 years, Brendan and Beth remained pen pals, Brendan's birthday was always written in the Infanger family calendar and they always called each other on their birthdays. When Beth was getting married to her husband Colin in November of 2019, Brendan was on the guest list. That night Leslie and Brendan briefly met on the dance floor but sparks really began to fly at the after party. They stayed up most of the night chatting by the fire and were the last ones to close out the party by a few hours. The following morning, hesitant to part ways so soon, Leslie invited Brendan to join her family's ski trip. Driving together for the first time on that trip from Boulder to Breckenridge, Leslie and Brendan made a day of it, stopping to take in the vistas, explore landmarks, and enjoy each others' company. This would become a constant theme of their many subsequent road trips. From then on the two were inseparable, despite the many miles between them. Over the course of the next year and a half they would share countless road trips together and precious time getting to know one another while staying with each others families. Finally in July of 2021, the two moved to Brooklyn together where they continue to write their story together.
