On October 8, 2021, in Austin, Texas, we met right before George Strait was set to take the stage at ACL. Our mutual friends left to go see Miley Cyrus on the other stage, but we decided to stay together to see the King’s full performance. We sang every word, danced the night away and then bought matching t-shirts. RÜFÜS DU SOL was headlining day two, so we met back up again and had another amazing time singing and dancing together. The ease and chemistry made our connection undeniable. It didn’t feel like we were strangers at all - it felt like we had known each other all along. We figured out that weekend that we actually lived two streets away from each other in Houston. Brought together by fate and God’s perfect timing, the rest is history. 🤍

We spontaneously booked a trip to Mallorca, Spain, in September 2023. Naturally, Leslie planned 99% of the trip, but the part that A.J. planned ended up being the overall highlight and best part. On Sept. 4, we got dressed for “dinner” and started driving toward what would end up being our engagement spot. We drove up to the gates of Miramar, parked and started walking along the property. We walked down to find the most beautiful and idyllic scenery - the sunset over the Mediterranean Sea, mountains, cliffs and olive trees everywhere you looked. A.J. hired a local photographer in Mallorca to be there and capture the moment. We cried, we laughed, we popped champagne and we celebrated saying “yes” to forever with each other. He planned the whole day - from the photographer to the venue - and every detail was magic.
