Leo and Leslie’s story began the modern way, on Hinge, with a match that quickly turned into long conversations and easy laughter. Somewhere between messages, Leo learned an important fact: Leslie runs on coffee. Naturally, their first date had to live up to that. On March 1, they met at Tatte Bakery & Cafe, where the coffee was strong, the nerves were real, and the connection was immediate. Date two raised the stakes, or at least the chaos level. At Roxy's Arcade, between drinks and games, Leo made what he might call a “bold move” and others might call a “complete accident”: launching a skee-ball so impressively off-course that it disappeared behind the machine, never to be seen again. A tragic loss for the arcade. A defining moment for their relationship. And then, as the world slowed down during the COVID-19 pandemic, their story quietly found its rhythm. In a time when so much felt uncertain, being together felt effortless. Leslie was working long, demanding shifts as a nurse, showing up for others when it mattered most, while Leo continued working remotely, bringing consistency, structure, and calm to their day-to-day life during an otherwise unpredictable time. Through it all, they became each other’s steady constant, building a partnership grounded in support, resilience, and love. Before long, “spending all their time together” turned into making it official, they moved in together in Jamaica Plain, turning shared days into a shared home. Enter Pumpkin and Spooky, their two cats, their daily entertainment, and very clearly the true loves of their lives (Leo and Leslie understand their place).
