A lot of ethnic food vendors. It's outdoors, rain or shine. The streetcar is free public transportation on Main street but if you like walking you can probably move the 4 blocks a lot faster. It runs from the River Market to Union Station.
This is Leslie's favorite building in KC. The architecture is beautiful and there's lots going on inside. There are visiting exhibits, miniatures, an IMAX, art installations, escape rooms, and Science City. The blackberry cobbler ice cream at Rocky Mountain is to die for and both Harvey's and Pierponts restaurants are there. Not that you need more art after this weekend but the Nelson is a renowned museum. If the weather is nice, consider taking a walk in sculpture park. You can get a picture with the giant shuttlecocks.
This place gets crazy busy and expect to wait out the door. Seating is also limited so you may want to consider takeout.
This is the shopping district. Everything is walkable and there's lots of parking.
The crossroads is the Art District of KC. It's undergone a revitalization and there are a lot of cool restaurants and microbreweries.
This is a nice sit-down bbq place that's damn good.
There's a giant beer hall with indoor and outdoor seating. You order your beer at a counter and then have free range.
This is a giant arcade bar with an 80's feel. All of your childhood favorites as well as skeeball. It's got two patios so if weather allows, enjoy!
A cash-only speakeasy through a backdoor of an alley but worth the trouble. If Tom Waits were a place, he would look like this. Delicious fancy cocktails. Cash only.
This is a jazz bar a block away from the hotel.
Open til 3am and around the corner from the hotel. Bar food.....tots!
Another barbecue joint but with lawn games so if the weather is good this is a great spot. It's also in an area of town called Westport which has TONS of bars and restaurants.
