Question

What is the weather like in Santa Barbara in July?

Answer

The averages are high of 76 degrees and low of 59 degrees. We will be outdoors for all events, so please bring layers.

Question

What is the shuttle schedule?

Answer

Sprinter van shuttles will be available to assist with transportation as laid out below. I'll reach out to folks with little ones to make sure we have enough car seats at the applicable times. Friday, July 21 - Welcome Party 6 pm PT - Pick up from Mar Monte to Shalhoob's 8-9:30 pm PT - Available to return guests from Shalhoob's to Mar Monte & Yananoli Saturday, July 22 - Wedding 3 pm PT - Pick up from Mar Monte to Glen Oaks 9-10:30 pm PT - Available to return guests from Glen Oaks to Mar Monte & Yananoli Sunday, July 23 - Brunch 10 am PT - Pick up from Mar Monte to Glen Oaks 1 -2 pm PT - Available to return guests from Glen Oaks to Mar Monte & Yananoli

Question

Can I drive myself to the welcome party on Friday? Can I drive myself to the wedding and/or brunch?

Answer

For each of the events (welcome party, wedding and brunch), we will provide transportation from Mar Monte Hotel to the event. For those staying at Mar Monte, you will receive a separate note with details about transportation. Please also see the added FAQ below regarding the shuttle schedule. We also understand many will be bringing little ones. We plan to have a few car seats in the shuttles and will share additional details regarding logistics for use of our shuttles once we have final numbers and a clear understanding of where folks are staying. Lyft, Uber or other car services are also options. If you prefer to drive to the welcome party on Friday, there are a number of public parking lots/garages in downtown Santa Barbara in/near the Funk Zone. Street parking is free and lots/garages have hourly rates. There will not be parking available at the wedding or brunch, so please plan to use either the shuttles or a car service for those events.

Question

What does "dressy casual" attire mean?

Answer

Good question - I had to Google it, too (and am still figuring out how to dress myself post-pandemic, generally). According to the internet, it's "between casual and cocktail." Nice jeans, casual slacks, sundress, comfortable skirt, sweater, blazer, etc.

Question

What does "garden cocktail" attire mean?

Answer

Again quoting the internet, cocktail attire strikes a "balance between formal and casual, as well as comfortable." Men typically wear a suit (with or without tie fine) and women a cocktail/tea-length dress, skirt or pant suit/slacks. The "garden" part is just to again call out that much of the wedding and reception will take place on grass, so best to leave your stilettos at home!

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence and company are truly all we want -- please no gifts. We are thrilled to see everyone and appreciate that just coordinating travel to and stay at the location we've chosen for our wedding is an undertaking in and of itself. Thank you.

Question

Will there be dinner served at the welcome party?

Answer

Yep, there will be passed appetizers and buffet-style dinner. There will also be beer, wine and NA beverages.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Any hotel or house rental that is near the wedding venue or downtown Santa Barbara will be most convenient. Our travel page includes a few suggestions, but please select what works well for you and please book ASAP as Santa Barbara is a popular summer destination and accommodations will get increasingly expensive as we get closer to our date.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP through the invitation you received via email. Please list out your family members/guests as prompted by the invitation.
