What is the Dress Code?

Can I bring my children?

Answer

To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we respectfully ask that no children (other than those in the wedding and immediate family) attend the ceremony or reception.

Is parking available at the venue?

Answer

No. The wedding will be held at the family lake house amongst other neighboring houses with little to no parking. Please be courteous and do not attempt to park at the lake house as you will be turned away.

Will the ceremony and reception be held outside?

Answer

Yes! Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors at the family lake house. Rugs will cover the grass and gravel as well as a dance floor. Please dress accordingly and choose proper footwear.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

You should be at the shuttle location no later than 4:10p.m. If you are running late and/or will not be coming to the ceremony, please wait at the shuttle location until cocktail hour begins.

Will shuttles be provided?

Answer

Yes. Shuttles will be provided and will depart from the Holiday Inn and First Church of God. Contact information will be provided closer to the wedding date.

Is there a weather contingency plan?

Answer

Yes. If the forecast is calling for stormy weather, the ceremony and reception will both be held at 322 West Gallatin, Vandalia, IL. However, all guests will be contacted ahead of time in the event of a venue change.

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Yes. However, prior to the ceremony, the bar will only be serving champagne, beer, and wine. Once cocktail hour begins, the bar will be full service.
