One summer afternoon, at Loma Linda University, I was striding in crutches. Les, being the gentleman that he is, ran to open the door for me. That same evening of May 12, 2015, we officially met at our Tuesday Night Bible Study. Coincidence or serendipity? We saw each other again at a Friendsgiving bible study and then again at a Christmas bible study, where Les bravely asked to walk me to my car. Some days later, Les messaged me on Facebook and we began to get to know each other. Les asked me to be his girlfriend on May 12, 2016 at a California Pizza Kitchen. Over the three years of courting, besides spending time together and getting to know each other better, we also met and learned about each other's families, ate a lot of Indian and Mexican food, grew as individuals and as a couple. Beside a lake in Big Bear on June 22, 2019, Les walked me into a candle-lit magical scenery, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him... ... and I said... YES! Laura <3
