We met initially online, but happened to run just outside eachother’s social circles. For example, Tyler, Charlie’s friend went to high school, with my friend Ronny. Additionally, we went separately to the same Ed Sheeran concert. When we began dating we took these as odd coincidences and good omens. Lastly, when Charlie asked if we could hang out one day, I asked if it was a date and he said I don’t know. I told him that I had enough friends so if it wasn’t a date we shouldn’t bother; I guess he found this bluntness appealing haha because it was a date after that. About 2 and a half years into dating, in June of 2017, Charlie asked me to go to the Huntington beach one random Tuesday. I was suspicious because we never go to the beach without our friends or on a weekday but he insisted so I agreed. When we arrived, we walked along the shore and Charlie quickly kneeled which I mistaked for him tripping. I asked if he was okay and he said, “Yeah, I just wanted to ask if you’d marry me?” I was so taken aback, I said, “Thank you.” and I reached yes after a moment of composure. A few people gathered around to congratulate us and we left the beach happily engaged :)
