Ben and Laura met on February 12, 2022 at Intelligentsia coffee shop in Watertown. They got lattes and went for a long walk in the nearby Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Hours of conversation were had! At the end, it was agreed to get lunch at Deluxe Town Diner and the date was extended. From there, every weekend possible was shared and one year from that first date, they had been living together for twelve days.
Two innocuous meetings. Time was found to secretly meet with Laura's parents and discuss something momentous-- and they went well! Ben ordered a box with a specific date engraved on it, marked the calendar on that day, and waited. In the weeks leading up to it, other plans, fatigue, and even the weather threatened the best laid plans! It ended up being a walk around Lake Quannapowitt. When they were half way around, it happened. It was a complete surprise! A time for happiness, possibility, and tears. In the box sat a precious family heirloom that Carla, Laura's mom, had entrusted to Ben for the occasion. Laura said "yes," the ring went on her finger, and, some distance away, a man walking a beagle applauded! It was the happiest day.
Ben and Laura are busy planning their Tupper Manor wedding and can't wait to celebrate with you in Beverly!
