Flight
Fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle, then take a high-speed train to Avignon
The OuiGo TGV (high-speed train) train station is within the airport, so there is no need to go into the city itself. The high-speed train from Charles de Gaulle to Avignon is about 3.5 hours. If you are already in Paris itself, trains to Avignon leave from Gare de Lyon and take about 2.5 hours. TGV tickets go on sale three months prior to the date of travel. Do not wait too long to book your tickets.
Train
From Avignon to Carpentras
There are TER (regional trains) from Avignon to Carpentras about every hour, every day. There is no need to book a train ticket ahead of time. Trains start running at about 6:00 a.m. and the last train leaves Avignon around 8:00 p.m. You can take the one that's easiest for you depending on when your TGV arrives into Avignon. The journey is about 30 minutes.

Taxi or Shuttle to Lodging
From Carpentras, take a taxi from the train station directly to your lodging. The drive from Carpentras to Crillon-le-Brave is about 15 minutes. Alternatively, we plan to run a shuttle from the Carpentras train station at 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in taking the shuttle, please contact us.
Rental Car
Or Rent a Car in Avignon or Marseille
Carpentras does not have as many options for car rentals as Avignon does, so it is safer to rent from Avignon (or Marseille). Several car rental agencies such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc. operate from the Gare d'Avignon (the station you will arrive at via TGV), so you can pick up a car after you arrive on the train. Note that driving in France is not very different from the United States, as long as you can navigate roundabouts. Renting a car will allow you to be flexible if you'd like to explore places outside the town in which you are staying. You will also have more control over when you leave and return to Avignon.

Here is a list of places we suggest you book lodging. As the Provence region is popular for tourists this time of year, the sooner you book the better. On the day of the wedding, shuttles will stop at locations in Crillon-le-Brave, Bedoin, and Flassan before going to the venue. Shuttles will run from the venue to the same locations later in the evening.
