For those traveling from outside NorCal, the best airports to fly into would be SFO or OAK, although the closest airport to Gualala is Santa Rosa - STS (just fewer flights and more expensive). You must have a car to get up here because it is pretty remote with no public transportation. But luckily, you will get to drive up (or down) the iconic Highway 1 which is a dramatic experience! π
Clothing is generally recommended. If you wear clothing, nice clothing would be nice. Footwear note: stilettos are probably not the best idea for the terrain βΉοΈ
We are not doing a banquet style/plated service dinner. Instead it will be buffet style (most of it prepared by Courtney and her family). The menu will be vegetarian/pescatarian (very plant-forward but we will grill up some salmon fillets), so if you are a carnivore type you might want to do what you need to do for breakfast/lunch π¦
A fun, fluid party at a unique place in the redwoods with lots of quirky stone structures. There won't be too much scheduling or structure, but there will be great food and games and opportunities for roaming around. There might be a piΓ±ata πͺ
You making the effort to be present at our celebration is an extraordinary gift in itself, so please do not worry about bringing anything. If you would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, we did set one up on the registry page, but please do not feel obligated in the slightest. We acknowledge the travel costs of getting and staying here so we are just grateful to have you with us βοΈπ
In early September we have a solid chance of having phenomenal weather: warm and dry. However, being on the coast, it always gets a bit chilly at night. A light jacket, shawl or sweater would be a great idea as the sun goes down. Leo likes to call the weather "dynamic" π
We are predicting about 35-45 people will be able to actually make it. We're only inviting our closest friends and family :) it will be a great group size for everyone to hopefully get to know one another!
