Things To Do

Walk the pier + beach at sunset

The iconic Manhattan Beach Pier is the centerpiece of town and one of the prettiest sunset spots in LA County. Walk all the way out for ocean views, surfers, volleyball games, and the free admission to the Roundhouse Aquarium at the end.

Stroll or bike The Strand

The Strand Manhattan Beach is the oceanfront path through the South Bay beach towns. Perfect for: * Morning coffee walks * Rollerblading/biking * People watching * Checking out the beach homes You can easily continue south into Hermosa Beach or Redondo Beach.

Watch planes land at Clutter’s Park

A hidden South Bay favorite near LAX where planes fly directly overhead. Surprisingly fun around sunset/night.

Shellback Tavern - Manhattan Beach celebrity-favorite spot

This is probably the most iconic “locals + celebrities” South Bay hangout. Right by the pier, super casual, and known for post-volleyball drinks and beach-town energy. The trucker hats even became a celebrity fashion trend recently. You’ll often hear stories of: * NBA/NFL players * surfers * musicians * reality TV people * athletes living in the South Bay …grabbing beers here because nobody really bothers them.

Fishing With Dynamite

Small seafood spot locals obsess over. Often recommended by LA food insiders and South Bay regulars.

The Arthur J - Steakhouse

High-end steakhouse by chef David LeFevre. One of the South Bay’s most respected dinner spots and very popular for business dinners and date nights.

The Strand House

Classic ocean-view Manhattan Beach restaurant. Frequently mentioned as a place where athletes, TV personalities, and affluent locals dine because of the view and relaxed upscale atmosphere.

Play or watch beach volleyball

Manhattan Beach is basically the capital of beach volleyball culture. Even if you don’t play, it’s fun to sit near the pier courts and watch.

Culture Brewing

327 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, California

A really solid South Bay stop if you want a relaxed, beachy brewery vibe without the intense party scene. A few reasons why we like it: * laid-back coastal crowd * indoor/outdoor feel with lots of people watching * good hazy IPAs and easy-drinking beers * dog-friendly * often has live music and community events * less touristy than some pier bars It’s more: “locals hanging out after the beach” …than loud nightclub energy.

Nati Boutique

211 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, California

A really popular coastal-chic women’s boutique and one of Nancy’s favorites! It’s known for: * relaxed California beach style * linen sets, matching lounge sets, flowy dresses * elevated casual basics

Hammitt

227 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, California

This is the flagship South Bay HAMMITT boutique and honestly a perfect Manhattan Beach shopping stop if you love elevated California style handbags. It’s right downtown near the pier and next to a lot of the popular restaurants and boutiques.
