Heather and Ryan really met on a retreat to Salter Path, NC through their junior year of high school at Cardinal Gibbons. Although they had been in some classes prior to that retreat, they had not yet had the opportunity to make each other's acquaintance.
Long answer: Verily, ours is a story of much self-inflicted inconvenience. Because of the late date of our official courtship, neither Heather nor Ryan had factored the other's college plans into their own decisions. Thus, Heather headed slightly west to Chapel Hill to become a Tar Heel while Ryan flew to the sea and committed himself to being a Seahawk in Wilmington. For four years we traversed that stretch of I-40 that connects the Triangle to the Ocean, growing to know its curves and greenery all too well. We were, however, determined to overcome this simple problem of distance and so made the decision to be with each other officially soon after finishing our high school studies. Short answer: The day we graduated from Gibbons.
What? How did you get to this page without knowing that? Are you magic? I bet you're magic. If you are magic, telepathically communicate with either Ryan or Heather right now please. Anyway, it's August 2, 2020 at 5:00pm.
