Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sarah Lentz and Nathan Schaefer
Welcome to our hometown! Here are some COVID friendly suggestions for things to do while you're here! It's a beautiful city with lots to offer!
Downtown Wausau

Downtown Wausau

607 N 3rd Street, Wausau, WI 54403
, (715) 848-9800

Downtown Wausau is actually a super awesome place with tons of shops, restaurants , bars, etc. There will be likely lots of outdoor seating to eat or grab something yummy to go and eat it on the square at Red Eye Brewing Co, Patina Coffee House, Downtown Grocery, La Prima Deli, Polito's Pizza, The Mint Cafe, Malarkey's Pub. We'd highly recommend any of these places to grab a bite!

Rib Mountain State Park

Rib Mountain State Park

State Park Road, Wausau, WI 54401

Gorgeous views of the whole city and surrounding area! Walking trails or just drive up for the view!

Rib Mountain Quarry Trail/Turkey Vulture Trail

Rib Mountain Quarry Trail/Turkey Vulture Trail

Grouse Lane, Wausau, WI 54401

The best trail in the park if you're looking for a satisfying hike! (You'll get sweaty) Hike up to the old granite quarry and up above it for some awesome views! About 2 1/2 miles to the top. There isn't an address specific for the trail head but turn left onto Grouse Lane from County Rd NN as you're diving out of the city. The trail head is at the end! Love this hike if you're in town for a few days.

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum

700 North 12th Street, Wausau, WI 54403
, (715) 845-7010

An absolutely beautiful free museum here in Wausau! If you don't feel comfortable going inside, there is a great sculpture garden on the grounds as well. Highly recommend this for some air conditioned fun.

Wausau Whitewater Park

Wausau Whitewater Park

200 River Drive, Wausau, WI 54403
, (715) 203-1279

A place where white water kayaking competitions take place! But also a great place to walk along the river or sit on the many viewing benches. Enjoy a little picnic here or a stroll.

Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art

Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art

309 McClellan Street, Wausau, WI 54403
, (715) 298-4470

This museum is also incredibly well designed and maintained but a local artist and entrepreneur. World renowned artists and exhibitions regularly circulate through here. This does have a fee per person, but excellent curation and exhibits.

Downtown Wausau Rivers Edge Park

Downtown Wausau Rivers Edge Park

There isn't a specific address that I can find, but drive or walk north from downtown along the river and you'll come across a giant adult sized playground! Careful, metal gets hot in the sun!

Marathon County Park

Marathon County Park

1201 Stewart Ave, Wausau, WI 54401

Wausau's "central park" with shaded flat walking trails and giant pine trees!

For all the days along the way
