January 12, 2015. A magical night for a number of reasons. The Buckeyes were about to take the field against the Ducks for the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship. Two strangers made their way to Harry Buffalo in Lakewood, hopefully anticipating another Ohio State national championship. Little did they know that the night would be the beginning of so much more. Not only did the Buckeye's trounce the opposing team, but Tom and Emily were introduced. It was the perfect night. Fast forward four months later, and Tom and Emily met again - this time at the Indians home opener. A theme is beginning to develop, I know. Later that night, they attended the first of what would become one of their favorite pastimes - a concert at House of Blues. After another wonderful night, Tom and Emily exchanged phone numbers. Soon they were speaking daily. Within two months, they were officially a couple, and were living together by the end of the year. On February 16, 2018, Tom took Emily on a date to downtown Cleveland. A delicious sushi dinner and a surprisingly strong martini later, they made their way to Public Square for ice skating. Emily had never been, but was convinced her adolescent rollerblading skills would translate nicely. She was wrong, but I digress. After mastering the art, at 6:02 PM, just as the sun was setting, Tom carefully got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him. Now, Emily claims she said yes right away - if you ask Tom, he'd tell you that she didn't say anything. The debate continues. Either way, at that moment, members of Tom and Emily's family, who had been watching the scene from the warmth of a nearby coffeehouse, came out to surprise Emily and to congratulate the happy couple. By then, the ring was on her finger, so there was no turning back. Emily and Tom were engaged and have been happily ever since.
