We first met during the last month of our senior year of high school through a mutual friend. What started as a simple connection quickly grew into something we carried with us through college, even while navigating long distance. Carlos was living in Austin, Texas, but he still made the trip to visit almost every month. Eventually, life brought us to the same place when Carlos moved to Tallahassee, and being able to share everyday life together made our relationship even stronger. On April 27, 2025, Carlos proposed in front of the Rialto Bridge in Venice. The sun was shining, the water shimmered beneath the bridge, and it felt like the whole city had paused just for us. It was romantic, unforgettable, and so perfectly us. After years of love, growth, and shared experiences, saying “yes” in that moment felt like the most natural step in our journey together.
