No, you are not required to stay at The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort. There are other hotel options close by to choose from, as well as AirBnB and condo rentals all located close to the Poipu area. Please just check and make sure you book on the correct side of the island or else the drive in could be quite long. If you do choose to stay at The Grand Hyatt there is a wedding code which will gain you discounted rates. Also, if choosing to stay at the Hyatt please make sure to become a Hyatt World member so you can bank those points.
Beach Formal Wedding Attire. Think linen, sandals, sundresses, even a hawaiian shirt if you are feeling festive. We ask you just not wear bathing suits or jean shorts (JORTS) to the ceremony. Also, because the ceremony is around sunset, please feel free to bring a sweater, if necessary. We want you all to feel comfortable and feel like your best self while with us.
It is recommended. Yes, there are Ubers, but how easily and readily available they are we are not sure. There are so many great places to explore on the island so having the freedom to do it is ideal, but it depends on what adventures you want to go on. Remember this is a vacation for you not just a wedding! Please be aware, the Island has low speed limits. PLEASE, PLEASE obey the speed limits, they take them extremely serious!!
Glad you asked! The Centanni-Bartnes Wedding discount code is CR85917 To make room reservations under the wedding discount rate you may call 800-742-2353 or visit www.hyatt.com and enter CR85917 into the group/corporate box. The rate conveniently allows for a 7 day cancellation policy prior to arrival date, so we encourage you to book as soon as you decide if you would like to stay at the Grand Hyatt. Please remember to join World Hyatt and collect those points!
We are embracing the traditions of Hawaii with some twists of our own personality. We are bringing retro beach rock to the sands of Shipwreck Beach with the wonderful sunsets of Kauai. Our colors represent the Hawaiian sunset while combining our favorite colors together to create the peaceful picture of burning love and calming waters. Teals, burnt oranges and golden yellows will appear throughout the weekend.
All events on the day will take place at The Grand Hyatt Kauai grounds. The ceremony will be by the beach at Konoloa Bay, followed by cocktail hour on the grand lawn and then proceeding with the dinner reception at Iiama Terrace. There will be signage and concierge to direct you along the way. Just say "I'm here for the Centanni-Bartnes Shindig!" In the event of rain, we have booked a backup venue on the grounds for the ceremony.
We are here to celebrate and want to respect and embrace the Island's culture. We ask that you respect the island and not remove ANYTHING. Taking things like sand, rocks, or coral can upset the delicate balance of the environment and harm marine life. Additionally, it's against the law to remove sand, coral, or coral rubble in Hawaii. Finally, the Hawaiian belief in Pele's Curse, which states that removing anything from the islands will bring bad luck and misfortune to the thief, is largely embraced by the locals.
