Things To Do

We could not be happier you have chosen to spend your weekend with us in Jackson. We hope you find time in your stay to explore this fantastic location. There are so many fun things to do and new memories to form with your loved ones. Grand Teton National Park is just to the north of Teton Village on Moose Wilson road. There is an entrance fee to get in to the park. Once there, you can drive to various points to see the sites or get out of your car and explore on foot. For those new to the area, there are grizzly bears in Wyoming. This is not a joke! Make sure you are bear aware and bring bear spray with you on all hikes – it is a must. Bear spray can be rented for $8/day from Teton Backcountry Rentals or purchased for $50/can. Below you will find some of our favorite activities.

SNAKE RIVER WHITEWATER RAFTING & FLOAT TRIPS

One of our favorite things to do near the Tetons. You can also “float” rather than “raft” if that floats your boat. Below are some recommendations (though you can’t go wrong with any company given the views): Barker-Ewing | 800.448.4202 Dave Hansen Whitewater | 307.733.6295

Golfing

Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis | 307.733.3111 (we are obviously partial to this one but call to book asap as they book quickly!) Teton Pines | 307.733.1733

Biking

Rent a bike from one of the below stores and explore Jackson’s paved trail system or over 115 miles of mountain bike trails. Below are our recommendations: Hoff’s Bikesmith | 307.203.0444 JH Sports | 307.739.2687 Teton Village Sports | 307.733.2181 Bike Rentals at Dornan's | 307.733.3307

Horseback Riding

Teton Village Trail Rides | 307.733.2674 Mill Iron Ranch | 307.733.6390

Fly Fishing

Fish the Fly | 307.699.1139 (locally owned and operated guide service) WorldCast Anglers | 307.733.6934 (located in the ORVIS store in Jackson)

Phelps Lake

Hiking to Phelps Lake is a popular short hike in Grand Teton National Park. The hike to the lake is 4 miles round trip. You can also choose to venture around the lake and jump off the famed jumping rock. Continue further into Death Canyon if you are looking for a longer hike.

Taggart & Bradley Lakes

Beautiful lakes at the base of the Tetons! This is another mellow hike to gorgeous views. The Taggart Lake to Bradley Lake loop is 5.5 miles and will not disappoint!

Granite Canyon

Moderate to difficult depending on length of hike. This goes to the top of the Tram (15 miles), but you can go up as little or much as you want.

Surprise & Amphitheater Lakes

This ten-mile round trip is a Teton classic, but because it climbs about 3,000 vertical feet over 5 miles it is considered difficult. An early start is recommended.

Top of the Gondola

The trailhead is conveniently located in Teton Village. Follow the Wildflower trail up the ski resort to the Couloir restaurant at the top of the Gondola. If you time your hike accurately, you can make it to the Couloir Deck in time for some live music and drinks and take the Gondola back down for free!

Leigh, Bearpaw & Trapper Lakes

This straightforward, flat hike offers stunning views of the sheer north faces of the main Teton peaks. Leave your car at the String Lake parking lot and head north along a well-marked path.

Jenny Lake & Hidden Falls

Easy hike with a boat ride across the lake. This is a great spot for children and families as the boat ride is fun, and you can walk up to the waterfalls at Hidden Falls (or not). Boats leave from Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls about every 20 minutes. There can be crowds!
