Union Station/Crown Center
Union Station is a great area for all ages. There are numerous exhibits that are rich with history, culture, and art. If you have kids, check out Science City, Legoland, or Sea Life Aquarium!
Boulevard Brewing Tours & Recreation Center
A local KC brewery with the best beer in the midwest. Go on a brewery tour or just to the tasting room to try out all the upcoming releases. Bride & Grooms favorite: the space camper.
Liberty Memorial Mall South
A commemoration to those who fought during World War I, this memorial site includes a museum with one of the largest collections of artifacts from the Great War. Also has Instagram worthy views of the downtown KC skyline
Crossroads District
The Crossroads is full of craft breweries, street art, and local shopping. If you are in town Friday, check out First Fridays- it's a street festival with local vendors, food trucks, live music and art.
Old Westport
So many fun restaurants and bars here. We went on our first date to Char Bar (barbecue, of course) which has an awesome patio with yard games. It's also dog-friendly! Another fun place is Kelly's Westport Inn- it's said to be the oldest building in KC. Fun fact: the bride's parents went on their first date here!
Barbecue Joints
Barbecue is the bride & groom's love language. Here are a few favorites: -Jack Stack (Amanda's favorite); she recommends the Poor Russ sandwich with cheesy potatoes! -Joe's KC ; everything is amazing but the Z-Man is what dreams are made of. The original is located inside a gas station! -Gates (Kyle's favorite) is a KC staple. Have your order prepared before you go- you'll see why :)
Country Club Plaza
The Plaza has something for everyone- it encompasses several blocks with an array of both chain and unique businesses, stores, restaurants, and casual coffee shops. Fountains and sculptures decorate the streets.
North Kansas City, MO
Just north of the river and close to the wedding venue, North KC has its own area of breweries, restaurants, and activities! One of our favorite places is Chicken N Pickle- a restaurant/bar with pickleball courts and yard games. Breweries/Distilleries: -Cinder Block -Big Rip Brewing -Restless Spirits Distillery
Zona Rosa
Looking for some last-minute shopping? Go explore Zona Rosa- it's 7 minutes from the airport and the venue. Zona Rosa Town Center is an open-air, mixed-use shopping center featuring a variety of upscale retail, restaurants and entertainment.
