Lauren and Carter's love story began in a classroom on their first day of law school at the University of Georgia. If you know them, you won't be surprised to learn that Lauren arrived to class forty-five minutes early, with her pencils, notebooks, and laptop ready to go. Carter, on the other hand, hustled in five minutes before the lecture was scheduled to begin (the earliest he's ever arrived to a class, he'd like to add!). Only a handful of seats were left open, and fate would have it that one of them was near Lauren. After success on the same team at the law school's annual Beer Olympics, burning the midnight oil at the library together, break-of-dawn trips to a burn center in Augusta, a shared love of red wine paired with grilled cheese, and countless laughs, it did not take Lauren and Carter long to realize that they were in love. Now, over three years worth of memories later, they've traveled across the country, survived law school, played a lot of blackjack, and fallen more in love every single day. They might not agree on everything (cough, cough, college football), but one thing is for certain: Lauren and Carter cannot wait to begin this new chapter of life as husband and wife, especially knowing they are surrounded by so much love!

A few days before Lauren’s birthday, Carter surprised her with a trip to the Ritz Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee. Lauren and Carter had celebrated the past Valentine’s Day at the lakeside resort, and they agreed it was one of the most romantic dates they had ever had. After their first visit, Lauren and Carter immediately knew that they wanted to make the hotel a special place they could return to together to reconnect and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So, to Lauren, it seemed like the perfect birthday respite. On the first evening of the trip, Carter told Lauren to get guzzied up for drinks and dinner beside the lake. Over Moscow Mules, they reminisced about their last three years together and all the dreams and hopes they have for their future. After a while, Carter grabbed Lauren’s hand and asked her to go for a walk with him down to the lake. It was there that Carter got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. Through tears, giggles, and overwhelming joy, Lauren said the easiest and most excited “yes” of her life! Although summertime at Lake Oconee is forever sealed as a special place in both Lauren and Carter’s hearts, they are thrilled to begin marriage together, surrounded by friends and family, in Atlanta during Christmastime of 2021.
