2020 has been a crazy year for everyone. With everything going in the world, together we had a front row seat to a few major events in global news. For us life has become a two sided coin, as it has for so many. One side has all that we put on hold and the other side all that lies ahead, the unknown. While we, more me than Marshall, have had moments of bitterness at what we feel was taken from us, life has changed! Looking at the unknown is scary but it has allowed for those life changes to do some pretty big things for us. 2021 is going to be a literal year of new adventures for us...one of us starts a new job, while the other works to gain more knowledge through education. Life certainly has changed for everyone and we are so excited to share our changes with all out loved ones! Onto date 4!
Marshall and I met while we were both going through tough, mentally challenging times in our respective sports. I was working my way back from a knee injury and he was about to have elbow surgery. This bonded us in a unique way that was the building block to everything to come in the future. Over the last four+ years we have grow together through little trials that come with college ending, sports ending and real life beginning. This is when we had a realization that while we saved each other, our passions in life lies within saving others. Our lives at that moment changed, I was about to go into my final semester of nursing school and Marshall was starting the process to become a police officer. This was our biggest challenge yet but it was easiley the time of biggest growth for us together. If you follow me on any social media you know how incredibly proud I am of ‘my personal superhero’ and everything he has accomplished on his journey so far, it may sound cheesey but it made me fall even more in love with him! Now begins our next journey and it’s gonna be the best one yet!!
Casey and I met when we needed each other the most. I was going through a tough time in college both academically and in my athletic career. I had just suffered a season-ending injury to my elbow and was going to need surgery. At the same time, I was unsure of a career path for myself and I was running out of time. Casey had also suffered a season-ending injury and was working hard to recover from it. We quickly bonded in a class we had together and grew amazingly fast as a couple. We were complete opposites but complemented each other perfectly. We were stronger together and nothing could hold us back. Being together helped lessen the stress of what we were going through. We both recovered from our injuries and were able to play the sports we loved again. Being with Casey also helped me realize what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Casey's role in life is to help others as a Nurse. Casey's dedication to her calling inspired me to help others as well but in a different way. Casey helped me realize that my calling was to be a Police Officer where I will be able to make a difference in someone's life every day. We continued to grow stronger for the rest of our time in college and overcame many more obstacles. I believe there is nothing we can not accomplish as long as we are together. I decided that I was never going to let her out of my life and I asked if she would stick around forever with me. I was the happiest man alive when she said yes! Now we have our whole lives ahead of us and we have big plans! I can not wait for what the future holds!
