We met like many these days… on a dating app. Dakota made the first move and sent Sean a private message. It didn't take long for Sean to respond and soon asked Dakota out to dinner. The first date, Oregano’s on a nice cool November night. Sean told her she was beautiful, which she so kindly replied “Shut up!”. Sean gazed at her with a corny smile the whole night through. Sean was quick to ask her on a second date…. The very next night in fact for coffee & pie. Which ended in their first kiss and from there it was history. Tid Bit: Our wedding day is actually our anniversary.
Our sweet baby Gwendolyn is a large part of our story. Although our story is a little backwards she made our love so much deeper. Having this beautiful baby girl who is the perfect half of each of us only showed us how much more we could love each other, though we did not think it was possible. The support we had for one another during the pregnancy, birth and now each day with our Gwendolyn has made our bond and understanding of each other stronger.
The day I decided the question must be popped! A few weeks prior I decided that Dakota would have a much more difficult time saying “no” if I somehow got Gwen involved with it, so I went to the store and got some supplies. During one of Gwens naps I decided to get to work on the big question. Using some puffy paint on a t-shirt I wrote "Mom, Dad wants to know...Will you join us as...MRS.LEKO?". Just in time Gwendolyn wakes up and I get her ready for the big moment. Dakota gets home after a long day and starts to come over to Gwen and I on the couch, and says “Hi Mommas! What outfit did daddy put you in?!” I reply “it’s a custom one” as she looks puzzled. I pick Gwen up so she can see her outfit. Dakota was speechless, I was still super nervous and shaking uncontrollably, reached behind me, and pulled out the ring box and handed it to Dakota. Needless to say she said “YES!” with a smile ear to ear.
