Our Story (The Abridged Version)

Andrew and Jessica met the way most modern couples meet, on Hinge. But there was a twist, they lived 4,000 miles apart.

In the summer of 2022, Jessica made a decision to change her Hinge location to Scotland, and on the 5th of July, Andrew liked one of her photos and that's where this story begins. For the next 4 months, they chatted almost daily, making each other laugh, sharing stories and talking about their days. Jessica knew she wanted to meet Andrew in person, so she planned a solo trip to London and told Andrew to come down for a couple of days. Their first date, which was over 2 days, consisted of Vietnamese food, mini golf at Swingers (Jess won), bottomless brunch, and Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, where they heard a man singing a cover of Cotton Eye Joe. On the way back to Philly, Jessica heard Cotton Eye Joe playing at the airport and they declared it their song as a joke. On New Year's Day, Jessica told Andrew she had feelings for him, but he had reservations about the distance. They decided after that to just be friends, but Jessica wasn't so sure. She knew Andrew was special and there was something between them even if he hadn't realized yet. That February, Jessica went on a trip to Scotland and Ireland with her friend Kate and saw Andrew on his birthday. To be honest, it didn't go well, as Jessica demanded to know why Andrew even wanted to be friends with her, but after a long chat, they yet again decided to stay friends. Andrew wasn't exactly emotionally available at this time. After a few months of dating other people and just being friends, Jessica jokingly asked Andrew if he wanted to come visit her in Philly....and he said yes! They wound up planning a road trip across Philly, NYC and Boston in July. Over their 12 day trip, they tried new restaurants, did an escape room, played mini golf (Jess won again), visited many museums, and so much more. When Andrew went home, he quickly realized he did, in fact, have feelings for Jessica and immediately booked another trip back that September. They decided their next destination would be New Orleans. Two months later Andrew was back and they were heading to NOLA. They decided that on the Tuesday of their trip that they would pretend it was their anniversary. For every reservation they made that day, they checked the anniversary box to see what would happen. On September 19th aka "anniversary day", they woke up and exchanged cards, which neither of them had told the other they were getting, went to the WWII museum where they saw a list of cities on the wall of the cafe and decided they would go to all of them (they only have two left), had a lovely dinner where everyone wished them happy anniversary, and ended the night at a cocktail bar where they got free champagne! That was also the day they decided to make their relationship official. Since then, Andrew and Jessica have been traveling back and forth between Glasgow and Philly, with some other special trips in between. They've visited Boston, NYC, New Orleans, Edinburgh, Washington DC, Corfu (Greece), Sarandë (Albania), Oban (Scotland), Bristol and Bath (England), The Poconos (Pennsylvania), Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Paris, Fort William and Glenfinnan (Scotland). They've also played 11 games of mini golf (Andrew is in the lead 6 to 5) and have done 9 escape rooms. On August 30, 2025, Andrew popped the question while standing next to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (aka the Harry Potter train tracks). It was an absolutely magical setting, and of course Jessica said yes!! They look forward to celebrating their wedding with all of their family and friends (that's you!), and spending the rest of their lives going on adventures together <3
