The dress code means that you can be as dressy as you want but with the option to be a bit casual. Think suit and tie and dinner dress, but feel free to skip the tie and/or jacket and go for a more beach vibe.
Feel free to stroll through the property or get a drink at the restaurant/bar at Mission Ranch (not part of the wedding). There are tables overlooking the meadow but they can get reserved pretty fast.
The forecast calls for sun with temperatures in the 60's. Carmel is right next to the ocean, so it may get a little chilly at night. And prepare for clouds/winds as well just in case.
Of course. There are plenty of parking spots at the venue.
The ceremony is outdoors and will be 30min. The reception is indoors at the patio barn for the rest of the night.
No. The restaurant next door is open during the wedding and there are other guests staying at the property. That said, we will have the ceremony and reception areas to ourselves so there'll be plenty of space.
Absolutely. We are trying to be considerate of people who are driving back to the bay area so we'll try to conclude the reception by 9pm. Of course, there is dancing and we have the venue until 10pm.
At 10pm, we can move to the piano bar next door. We are also staying at the farmhouse on the venue so a small group can also hang out there.
Yes! Although Chenxing won't be there because she needs fly back for work. But for those of you staying overnight after the wedding near Carmel, we will have a casual lunch at a Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Carmel. Please let me know if you think you might make it, I'll add you to a Facebook invite.
Carmel is a beautiful little beach city and you can either take a stroll through the downtown area or walk over to the beach. North of Carmel, there is Monterey and the scenic 17 Mile Drive. The aquarium in Monterey is highly recommended. South of Carmel, Big Sur offers majestic views of the ocean and tons of great hikes along the way. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is also a great spot for a view of McWay Falls.
