As soon as I saw you...

10. 14. 17

It was Harvest Homecoming weekend when I walked into Wick's Pizza to meet up with friends. (Keep in mind I had no idea who Leiven was nor what he looked like). Leiven was already there with those friends for dinner. As I walked in and approached the table they were sitting at, I was briefly introduced to Leiven... and his jaw... which was on the floor. I really did not think much about it until the rest of the girls who were at dinner, approached me to see if I noticed Leiven's reaction. I did not. I didn't even remember his name... if we're being honest. A couple days later I received a text from our friend asking if he could give my number to Leiven because he had been asking about me. We went on a couple dates.. and for the longest time I thought I didn't like him. It wasn't anything personal, I was just being stubborn. However, to any of you who know Leiven... you know he is dedicated and persistent... and boy did it pay off. After a few deep conversations, ice cream runs at midnight and meeting his son Liam... we fell in love. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

2. 8. 18

Every girl dreams of this moment. The pictures. The makeup. Where it's done. Who is going to be there. Well, I was one of those girls. I had it all planned out in my head for years. However, anyone who knows me, knows that I am the kind of person who is just as satisfied with a night in movie & popcorn than I am with going out on an extravagant date. Same with a proposal, I would have the same reaction in our bed as I would on top of the empire state building. So, a little FYI, it is not out of the ordinary for Leiven to be sentimental. We have sweet, loving conversations all the time. However, this time it was a different vibe. I got out of the shower (Yes, I know, no makeup.. hair soaking wet) and Leiven was listening to "wedding songs". I walked into the room and laughed at him, asked if he was "in his feelings tonight". He laughed back at me and shook his head. A little bit later as I lay down to go to bed he asked me if we could talk. (Again, it is not out of the ordinary, so I still have NO IDEA what's going on) He talks to me about our lives and the love we share... and then all the sudden he says, "Abigail Clark Babbitt, will you please be my wife." I don't think I could've of said, "YES!" fast enough. So there you have it, it was us. Very pure, honest, and loving moment. I realized very quickly that it isn't about the pictures, or the ring, or the nails, the setting.. its all just stuff. What is important is the love, the words, the actions, the memory, and all the little things in between that make a proposal. I wouldn't of had it any other way. We are so excited to be taking this next step in life TOGETHER!
