Dearest family and friends, We wanted to give each of you an update as we continue on our wedding weekend preparation and journey. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we can no longer get married on the weekend of our choice at the venue of our choice. As most of you are aware, the Empire Polo Club fields happen to be 2 miles from our venue and is host to Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. We were all just made aware that a new music festival has been scheduled for our wedding weekend, Oct 5-8, 2023. It’s called Power Trip… google it and you will see for yourself the most obvious reason why we cannot proceed with our wedding on that weekend. While Iron Maiden playing during our ceremony might sound fun, we don’t want them to start playing their song ‘Run to the Hills’ while we say our vows. While this music can be enjoyed in other settings, our wedding weekend did not seem like the right venue to witness and enjoy this concert experience. The music festival will also cause challenging road closures and limit access to our venue. Lastly, we have seen extreme price increases and lack of availability in hotel/VRBO accommodations, transportation (shuttles/UBER), and flights, due to the announcement of this music festival. None of these factors are something we wanted to ask any of our family, friends and guests to have to endure for what is to be one of the most wonderful weekends of our life. With that said, we solidified a new wedding date (February 9, 2024) with our venue and will send out a “Re-Save the Date” postcard with all the information you will need prior to our invitation. As you can imagine, this has been very hard to navigate. We are excited to move forward and update you very soon on when we will become the new “Mr. and Mrs. Leith.” We love each of you dearly and appreciate your support as we countdown the days to our new date. With Love, Lydia & Josh
