We bumbled into each other (we met through online dating.) After messaging back and forth for a bit we decided it was time to meet in person, only to instead meet with setbacks and delays! Work injury and illness didn't deter us though, and the delays only intensified our desire to meet face to face. We continued getting to know each other over the phone until we finally were able to have our first date (at Mary Sue's). Our second date consisted of tacos and sushi followed by walking downtown and singing Hamilton together in a little courtyard. Then a third date walking for hours in a park (we now call it "our park") discussing anything and everything that popped into our heads. Talking together was like breathing. Our love grew and blossomed the more time we spent together; more dates followed along with meeting each other's families and, impossible as it seems, our love grew even more, multiplying and expanding to include each other's family as our own.
Putting an exact date on when we decided to get married is tricky. The longer we knew each other and the more we learned, the closer we became until it was understood that we wanted to spend our lives together. We'd met our match, our other half. Of course this was the person we wanted to spend our lives with! It became impossible to imagine a future that didn't involve us being together. Phrases for the future like "When I marry you..." and "After we're married..." snuck in and quickly became common. After a proper discussion (almost more of a formality) we officially agreed and began making plans to wed and make a life together.
