Ethan and Emily first met at a youth group Christmas party at Life Bible Church in 2020, where they were little more than acquaintances for about a year and a half. During that time, they are grateful they simply noticed one another without rushing into a “talking stage,” instead focusing on school, friendships, and their individual spiritual growth. In the summer of 2022, everything began to change as they started spending more time together in a shared friend group. Whether it was grabbing dinner, playing frisbee at the park, or hanging out at other peoples houses, their time together became more frequent—and so did their conversations. As they grew closer, Emily began hearing rumors that Ethan liked her, and she decided that if he ever asked her on a date, she would say yes!! In November 2022, he did just that, and they went ice skating at Avalon. They had so much fun that they went on another date the very next day. During that second date, they spent over two hours talking about everything—from their faith and personal testimonies to family, values, politics, and life goals. It was in those conversations that they realized just how aligned they were and felt confident pursuing a relationship together. They officially began dating on December 3, 2022, and have been together ever since. Through every high and low, they are incredibly thankful for the steady, peaceful, and loving relationship they have built. They are truly each others best friends, and they can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together.
