Once upon a time, when Leilani and Trevor were both 19 years old, fate quietly stepped in at Santa Barbara City College. They met in a ballroom dance class - of all places - where, on the very first day, they noticed each other instantly. But like any good love story, nothing was said. Just a few lingering glances and a feeling that something was there. Later that same week, destiny made itself known again. In a 200+ person anatomy lecture hall, they spotted each other from across the room and realized, to their complete surprise, that they shared not one class, but two. It felt too coincidental to ignore. That’s when Trevor made the first move, asking Leilani to study anatomy together. One study session led to another, and soon after, he asked her to be his ballroom dancing partner. From that moment on, their steps were perfectly in sync - on the dance floor and in life. Together, they transferred to Chapman University, where they both went on to graduate side by side, cheering each other on every step of the way. After graduation, life tested their love with two years of long distance: Leilani in Austin, Texas, and Trevor in Miami, Florida, coaching football. Through countless FaceTime calls, packed suitcases, and many flights back and forth, their love only grew stronger. Eventually, the distance closed when Leilani moved to Miami, where they built a little life of their own - one that soon included two foster kittens who quickly became permanent family members through adoption.
