The story of how we met is a true testament to the saying that when you are not looking for your soulmate, the universe will guide you to them in the most unique way. In order to know our story, you need to know of two amazing people in our lives, Chelsey Reyes and Shelby Jim. Two incredible friends to the both of us and the reason we met that fated night in 2013. Chelsey and her husband were getting ready to move to San Diego and had a going away party in the city to celebrate with friends. One of her friends was dating Shelby. I had grown close to Shelby in beauty school and became fast friends. One evening she invited me to the city to drop off her boyfriend. That is when I met their friend, Mike. There was a moment of instant attraction but sadly no introductions. Shelby and I didn’t stay long but I was delighted when she received a text from her boyfriend. His friend wanted to know who that cute girl was! We giggled and I was flattered. We met again with a real introduction a few months later. Since I had grown so close to Shelby and was always at her house where she lived with her boyfriend and Mike, it didn’t take long for the attraction between Mike and I to grow. After many nights of being young and having fun, it was clear no one was going to make the first move. It wasn’t until Shelby started to fix Mike up with another friend that I finally said “what about me?!” We laughed so hard because we knew I had a thing for him the whole time. I just hadn't admitted until then. Over the next week or so Shelby worked her magic behind the scenes (not that it took much). One evening, we all stayed up watching a movie in his room and we all fell asleep. In the morning, Shelby snuck out and left the two of us alone. Sneaky girl! Mike had woken up early and waited until I woke up. Once I was up we instantly locked eyes. I truly can't tell you what happened in that moment other than the true feeling of butterflies, but something from there on out finally got us on the same page.  It wasn’t long after that that we finally started dating and living together. 11 years later, we are still inseparable and planning our wedding together. I can’t wait to spend forever with my best friend. Fun Fact: One of our first hiking adventures was at Muir Woods.
