Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Pretty much all of the events throughout the weekend are pretty casual. The wedding ceremony itself is smart casual. Think sun dress or khakis and a polo. Please no bold or dark colors, no busy pattens and no dark blue jeans. Pastels and neutrals would be best. Light jeans are also okay. Shorts and plain t-shirts are also okay. Barefoot would be fine!

Question

Can I bring my friend, cousin, nephew (fill in the blank)?

Answer

We know that everyone is excited about coming to Florida and that many of us have not had a vacation since COVID. So when you tell your family and friends that you are coming to florida for a beach wedding, naturally they all want to come along. However, please think about all of the work and time that goes into planning a wedding, all of the coordination and logistics, and all of the money it costs. We purposefully kept our guest list small by only inviting those people that are closest to us. It made this wedding celebration more meaningful to us that way. Please think about all of that before you put us in a difficult position by asking if you can bring someone we don’t know to our wedding.

Question

Are you taking COVID precautions?

Answer

Yes! We purposefully kept this wedding small and most activities will be outdoors. We did not want to host a super spreader event. Further, Jesus and Leila are both vaccinated as is most of the family. For those reasons, the events will be mask optional. However, if you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask when you are in close proximity to others. We will have masks available for use. Also we will have hand sanitizer and sanitizing hand wipes. Please use them copiously. While most of us are vaccinated, we are still at risk of infection with COVID (albeit our symptoms are likely to be very mild). Also no one knows how well our vaccinations will hold up to all of the new variants. So just be mindful and take precautions please.

Question

Can you tell me more about the breakfast?

Answer

It’s an optional event and will likely get cancelled if there is not enough interest. It is not a formal part of the schedule. We wanted a place for everyone to gather after the ceremony if they were still feeling like hanging out. There are no restaurants in the vicinity of the beach that can accommodate a large party. Therefore, the place we chose is a combination ice cream parlor, fudge store, bakery (mostly just pastries), and they have a small breakfast counter where they make omelettes to order. They have a cute little lounge off to the side where they said they could accommodate us. I do not know if they have any vegan or gluten free options. I would tend to doubt it. I was mostly thinking it would be a pit stop to chat and drink coffee and grab a pastry for those who want to. There are breakfast places nearby. I will share a couple of them on the site. We encourage family to go and grab breakfast on your own afterward or in lieu of coming to this.
