Leighton and I met each other after being matched on a popular dating app. Leighton said he was drawn to my honest and silly page and decided to write me an email after encouragement from a friend. I had almost given up on finding someone of worth and was about to close my account with the website. When I received Leighton’s email, I was interested in learning more about him and decided to give the dating thing another shot. After a few emails back and forth, we exchanged phone numbers and started talking. From that day on, there hasn’t been a day that we haven’t spoken… even on the hard days. After the first conversation, we talked for almost a month before meeting in person for the first time on December 12th, 2016 at El Gaucho Inca. While navigating life, love, parenting, and various apocalyptic events, Leighton has remained my best friend. Love, trust and compromise have helped us reach this moment in our lives. It may have taken us 9 years to reach this day, but I wouldn’t change a thing. When our wedding day arrives, I will be so proud to marry my best friend and the love of my life.
