We met at a mutual friend's birthday party! Even though we attended the same high school, shared mutual friends, and both grew up in Santee, we never actual met until that night. We became beer pong partners (and champions!) for the night. After countless cheesy jokes, laughs, and dancing, we forgot there was an entire party going on around us. The very next day we went on our first date and the rest is history!
For the second year, we were going to Big Bear for Thanksgiving. We made plans to fish, visit the town, attend the tree lighting ceremony, hike, and visit the Big Bear Zoo. When I found out that this zoo had raccoons, I was SO excited! I'm not sure why, but I have an obsession with those cute little trash pandas. Little to my knowledge, Marcus called the zoo and spoke with the raccoon keeper and planned the sweetest proposal. The zoo keeper filled the raccoon enclosure with dozens of red roses, whip cream hearts, and heart shaped decorations. When we got to the zoo, I (of course) sprinted to the raccoons and began my mini freak out. Meanwhile, Marcus got down on one knee behind me and when I finally turned out, he asked me to marry him. It was the easiest and best decision I've ever made!
