For Kyle...it was just another gig. For Leigh...it was just another time her daddy's "proud pappa" bragging got her up on stage to sing with the band. Little did they know, that chance encounter would transform and COMPLETELY change the course of their lives. ************** When Kyle introduced himself to the redhead who'd just poured her heart out singing "Girl Crush" as his fingers danced over the pedal steel strings… he decided to play it cool. After all... that's the number one rule on the Nashville music scene; "Just be a good hang." The two exchanged sincere compliments over the performance as well as contact info, and Kyle invited Leigh out to sit in with him in a 90’s country set the next weekend at AJ’s on Broadway. At the end of the night, Kyle gave Leigh a ride back to her tiny little apartment on Music Row…and even though the drive was only about a mile and half long… They spent about 2 hours in the car together talking, sharing music, laughing and genuinely enjoying getting to know one another. It was just so EASY being in each others’ presence, they completely lost track of time. (And truth be told, neither one of them wanted it to end.) The future Mr. and Mrs. Everson didn’t QUITE begin their fall yet though… Not every love story is completely linear, after all. Life got busy (as it tends to,) and the two fell out of touch for several months. But Kyle was ALWAYS in the back of Leigh’s mind. And she couldn’t help but smile every time she thought about him. ************** One sunny day in April, Leigh opened Instagram and there at the top of her feed was a photo of a beaming Kyle with his then 2-year-old niece, Anniston. Leigh’d heard a lot about the adorable little “turkey” and feeling bold, sent a rather direct and flirtatious text: “Hey stranger! You showed up at the top of my IG feed today looking clean cut with a really cute girl in your lap. 😉 How are things?” A couple weeks later, Kyle brought his cousin (who was in town visiting from Georgia,) to one of Leigh’s solo acoustic gigs. While Leigh’s voice filled the bar, Kyle’s cousin leaned over to him and said, “I don’t know man… I’ve got a feeling about this one…” ************** This time, Kyle asked Leigh out without the guise of gigging. The two decided to meet for lunch on a beautiful Saturday in Leipers Fork. …Their lunch date ended at approximately 10 PM that night. LOL One date turned into two. Two into three. And three blurred into an almost daily need to spend time with one another. They fell hard. And they fell fast. And it was the easiest and most authentic love either one of them had ever experienced. Two months in, they brought home a little 7 week old floof they named Lucy. (That floof is now the 60 lb teddy bear pictured above. LOL) And the three of them lived Happily Ever Everson.
