December 2012 Michael and I met one faithful night at one of, if not THE classiest establishments in Denver, Jackson's downtown. As Rihanna says, we found love in a hopeless place. Well not exactly, Michael was with one of his best friends, Travis, who I knew from college. It was a quick interaction that I didn't think much of. Fast forward to January 2013 Thursday night Ladies night at Absinthe House in Boulder, CO are truly where all great love stories start. Michael, being the gentleman he is, came up to me and reintroduced himself. We proceeded to dance (probably to "We Found Love in a Hopeless Place") and as they say, the rest is history!
Michael had a work trip in San Fransisco and we decided to make a long weekend out of it. I met him in SF Friday night where we got ready to sightsee and have a dinner with a view of the bay bridge. I thought a proposal could be apart of his plan, but I honestly was convinced he'd propose in Denver with family and friends. We had a couple hours before dinner so we put on our tourist hats and started walking around the Embarcadero. We proceeded to walk EVERYWHERE. I thought it was a little strange that we were walking so much to so many random spots (little did I know he was looking for the perfect spot to propose). We then had a lovely dinner with gorgeous views of the Bay Bridge. After dinner, we walked down the pier which was completely empty of tourists now. The sun had set and the Bay Bridge was lit up. Michael had a little speech prepared and got down on one knee! I then cried for about 20 minutes, overwhelmed by the entire experience! It was perfect, romantic, and intimate and I could not imagine a better proposal. Great job, Michael! #SFisforlovers
