We first met in 2005 through my brother Brian. I was home visiting with Naomi (she was just turning one). Brian had invited me to go to a house party and that is where I met Bret for the first time. The funny, goofy guy with the afro red hair and bottle cap glasses that was my younger brother's friend. This is where our journey begins. Over the years we would randomly be at the same place and would chat throughout the night. There were times we would message over FB messenger occasionally and catch up on each other's life. I found myself looking for him when I went to places, I knew he would be at. One night I was out with Leah and Jess, we met up with Tyler and Stephanie at bar for drinks. Bret and Klun showed up to pick up Tyler (she was feeling pretty toasted lol). Bret and I did our usual chatting or "flirting" as Leah would later point out. After we left Leah looks at me and says, "What was that all about??". Not knowing what she was talking about she elaborated on Bret and me "flirting" back and forth. It was nothing, just something we did. As I explained our history, I realized that I actually wanted to get to know him more than a friend. I asked Jess for his number and finally worked up the courage a few days later to ask him on a date. We went on our first date the following week. In my eyes the date went well, conversation was great and found out we had a lot more in common than I realized. The date was ending, and I told him I had a sitter for my kids and could hang out longer. He basically dipped out to hang out with mutual friends, the Klun's and Stephanie. I went to Leah's, so disappointed. Leah and I evaluated the date, we came to the conclusion that he's an idiot for ditching me lol. After he apologized, we continued to see each other. Now here we are 5 years later, planning our wedding.

I met Leigh through her brother Brian many years ago. I would randomly run into her at parties and always made a point to talk and hang out with her anytime I saw her. I always enjoyed her company and conversations. (Come to find out from 3rd parties, we were flirting) Life kept us apart for many years. When she came back to Arizona I got to run into her again. I was so happy she was back and I got to converse and see her again . She was the one with courage that ask me out. I accepted hoping I don’t blow the friendship we had by being a sucky date. (Which i almost did by being a sucky date, as soon as dinner was over, said goodnight and ditched her to go hang out with my friends at the bar). Luckily I did something right and have got to enjoy her company daily since then and watch her be an amazing, caring and dedicated nurse & mother. Also got the bonus of watching 3 amazing kids grow and becoming themselves over the years. We butt heads and annoy each other, but I see nothing in my life without her. She is smart, funny, witty and oh so headstrong but we balance each other.
