We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

We met through mutual friends at a party one summer. Anne immediately noticed Leigha but in Anne’s word “Leigha never looked her way”. ( which may be true ;)) However, we did become friends and travelled to many places for a few years until Leigha finally gave Anne a chance and they went on a date. One of their first dates was at the Desert botanical gardens where Anne later proposed.

Anne first asked Leigha to marry her while on a beach in Mexico. Some may think that is romantic but here is how it really went down. We had been drinking on the loungers on the deck at our resort in Mexico when Anne reached over Leigha to grab another beer. Anne looked Leigha in the eyes and said Marry me? (Very drunk might I add). Leigha laughed and said ask me properly and I might say yes. About a year later Anne asked Leigha if she wanted to go back to the Desert Botanical gardens for a date. Leigha agreed and invited her family thinking it’d be a nice evening. About 20 minutes into the Desert Botanical Garden Anne asked Leigha if she wanted to take a picture by a tree. Leigha said yes and as she walked over Anne pointed at the tree and asked, “what’s that?” Leigha looked up and saw an ornament hanging that read ‘Anne and Leigha’s first Christmas engaged’ and when Leigha turned around Anne was down on one knee and asked Leigha to marry her. Definitely a shock to everyone!
