Ah, to live in the era of online dating. I was always skeptical, never thought I would even create a profile for an online dating website. I had been single for a few years though and thought why not when my friend Macie made me a Bumble one night during a shift at Children's Medical Center. Macie helped me make my profile and helped me swipe right (lol she knows my type!). Matched with Mitchell and struck up a conversation that was entirely too easy. We made multiple plans to meet but each time those plans fell through. A YEAR LATER.. we finally met at a bar in Dallas with a few of my friends. It was the most fun I've ever had. I felt like I had known him for so long, it was so effortless and comfortable. Mitch always made me laugh and it always felt like we were the only people in the room wherever we would go. He's the most sincere, goofiest, giving man I've ever met and his amazing family is the biggest added bonus! He picks me up when I'm down and always celebrates my accomplishments. He's the best teammate and cheerleader and I don't think he's ever met someone he couldn't easily strike up a conversation or a friendship with. It's been an amazing adventure for 3.5 years and I'm the luckiest girl in the world to be walking down the aisle towards him in May!
Thinking back to the days of countless swipes in hopes of finding "the one", I remember when I first matched with Leia on Bumble and my first thought was how beautiful this girl is and that there was no way we will ever meet up because she was way out of my league. I remember having dinner with my brother and his girlfriend and telling them about how I matched with this girl who seemed so perfect. She was super easy to talk to and was so motivated to do so much with her life. I kept telling them how badly I wanted to meet up with her. Unfortunately, our schedules never lined up and about a year passed before one of the best nights of my life happened on June 9th when we agreed to meet in Dallas. I had no idea that it would be a night that changed my life forever. We ended up hanging out for most of that weekend and everything was so easy and felt right. The following weekend she had to work and I always went to my sister's house to see them and I told her and my brother-in-law that this girl was different and could be the one. After dating for over two years, I finally got to make my dreams come true and asked Leia to spend the rest of her life with me. I'm still shocked to this day and I am so excited for our future. I cannot wait until 5.28.22 to watch Leia walk down the aisle and become my wife!
