Leia and Danielle met as sophomores at Lafayette High School in 1994. They quickly bonded over their love of theater, recent moves to St. Louis, and the many mutual friends who kept saying they needed to meet one another. Sine then, these life partners have had similar paths - studying education at Mizzou, being roommates, entering the Fellows program to earn their Master's degree, becoming teachers in Columbia, and being the sister neither one ever had. In 2003 Leia was honored to serve as one of Danielle's maids of honor when she married Josephus Johnson, and she happily accepted the role of "aunt" to their three girls. "The Most Reverend Doctor Danielle Johnson" (she really does have her PhD) is the perfect person to officiate Eric and Leia's wedding.
Flower Girl
All three of Danielle and Josephus's daughters hold a special place in Leia's heart. The youngest, Maggie, has always loved sleepover parties, playing with Leia's cats, and requesting Eric make his amazing waffles. We love this firecracker and are so glad she will be a part of our wedding.

Leia and Jessica teach English together at Hickman High School. Jessica's fashionable tastes earned her the nickname "Ensemble Spice" and she has been a wonderful colleague, supportive friend, helpful mover, and Leia's go-to.
