Zach and Sophie first met on a Spring Break Trip to Panama City Beach (PCB), Florida in March 2013. They started hanging out when they got back to Mizzou, took each other to their sorority and fraternity formals and started dating soon after. From PCB to Marry Me!

Zach surprised Sophie at the school she works at with the great help of her principal and co-worker friends. Throughout the day, 11 of Sophie's middle school students came up and gave her a rose. Sophie’s principal had told her a TV camera crew would be interviewing staff that day in order to distract her while staff smuggled Zach in and helped him decorate the school gym.  At the end of the day, Sophie thought she was walking into her TV interview in the gym, but it was Zach there with the 12th and final rose. He was down on one knee with his handmade sign that said "Will You Marry Me?", with photos of them throughout their 6 years of dating. Sophie's friends hid behind the gym curtain and watched and even Facetimed her parents! They celebrated that weekend in KC with close family and friends.

Sophie and Zach now live in Kansas City, Missouri by the Country Club Plaza. Sophie is a middle school counselor and Zach is an electrical engineer. They like to stay active together, cook, travel, and explore Kansas City breweries and restaurants with their family and friends.
