While we would love to have everyone and their children, we please ask that the wedding and reception be for invited adult guests only.
Yes! We have reserved a room block for guests wanting to stay at the Hilton where the bulk of the wedding party will be. There is a discounted code provided. Please reach out to Alisa if you would like one! The room rate is about 45% off of the current booking price. The check-in is for March 5th - 9th. If you would like an extension let us know so we can get you a good rate. If booking at the Hilton we suggest booking at the Makai tower since it is the most updated and closer to amenities.
Jason and I will arrive on March 3rd and stay until the 13th. Anyone is welcome to stay as long or short as they'd like.
Yes! The Fairmont Orchid ($$$$) - 5.8 miles. Marriot Waikoloa Beach ($$$) - .7 miles The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort ($$$$) - 10 miles Those are the main ones surrounding the Hilton. The hotel is centrally located near Waikoloa Village where you can also find plenty of AirBnB or vacation rentals.
Yes! Waikoloa Village is about a 1 mile walk. The hotel also provides a free shuttle (pick-up and drop off) at the shopping center. There you will find retail stores, restaurants, Island Gourmet Market for groceries, and even a movie theater. The Shops at Mauna Lani is about 5 miles away. There you will find more shops, restaurants, and retail stores.
Cocktail or garden party (google it) dress attire is welcome. Please be advised that the wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors (weather permitting), so bring a layer for the evening festivities. The weather in Waikoloa can be anywhere from nice and sunny, to windy and (hopefully no) rain!
We are having a buffet style meal that will accommodate most of our friends and families preferences. There will be dairy free options, vegetarian, and gluten free. If you have any other restrictions please let us know.
Heck yeah there are dolphins! The Hilton is home to Dolphin Quest - it is known for its "educational programs, support of scientific studies, and hands-on conservation advocacy." Here you can fulfill your childhood dreams and swim with some resident bottlenose dolphins. You can take a look here: https://dolphinquest.com/big-island-hawaii/
It is up to you on whether or not you want to explore the island. Rental cars can be booked through Hertz located at the Fairmont Orchid, or at the Airport. Again, Uber is easily accessible. The Island has many beautiful beaches to explore, and the Hilo side (east) has some lush rainforests and waterfalls. We rented a car for 3 days and that was perfect to explore the whole island with. Self-parking at the Hilton is $50/day.
Absolutely not. The shells and coral help build the habitat and ecosystem that makes Hawaii beautiful. Please admire their beauty, but leave them be.
Unfortunately no. Extra guests are welcome to hang out after the festivities, but we ask that only invited guests attend the ceremony and reception.
Shoot yeah! Cocktails, wine, and beer will be provided so we can get our Aloha on!
The short answer is yes. If you fly via Alaska Air you are entitled to one free case of wine to your checked luggage. It does not count as extra. If anyone needs help acquiring shipping boxes please ask! I am not sure about the other airlines. Will update as I find more info. Alcohol on the Island, much like everything else is very expensive so we highly recommend bringing your own to enjoy. Generally it is supposed to be wine only...but if you can manage other bottles...
Yes they do, but it is not guaranteed. The resort website says it is best to book early. They do sell out quite often. For more information and booking: https://www.resortpass.com/hotels/hilton-waikoloa-village
