Question

How are you handling COVID-19?

Answer

Please bring your vaccination card or a picture of your card as many DC venues are requiring proof of vaccination to enter. We ask that all guests be vaccinated in order to attend. We are monitoring the situation extremely closely and will provide updates when necessary. When this wedding does occur, we will take every precaution and follow all protocols set by the government, and our church and venue have assured us they will do the same.

What should I wear to the wedding? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the 2:30pm ceremony at St. Matthews Cathedral is cocktail. Guests are welcome to change into more casual attire (sundresses, wedges, flip flops, shorts) for the reception at The Bullpen.

Where/when are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at 2:30pm at St. Matthews Cathedral, which is located at 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036. We expect the ceremony will last until around 3:30pm. The reception will take place at The Bullpen located at 1201 Half St SE, Washington, DC 20003 following the ceremony, and we expect it to start by 4:30pm or as soon as guests arrive. Buses will be provided to take guests from the ceremony to the reception and to The Thompson.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors, and we will provide an update on mask requirements as they become available. The reception will be outdoors. There will be a tent and other shaded/covered areas, but this is a rain or shine event.

Is transportation provided?

Answer

Yes, transportation will be provided from The Thompson, The Marriott, and The Homewood Suites at 1:45pm Saturday, August 28 to the ceremony at St. Matthews Cathedral. Transportation will also be provided from the ceremony at St. Matthews to the reception at The Bullpen. The hotels are all walking distance to The Bullpen.

Are kids or my significant other welcome?

Answer

If you received an invitation with your significant other's name or "guest" included, then yes significant others may attend. Unless you have made special arrangements with Matt or Sarah, kids are not invited. Sorry!

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We recommend guests stay at The Thompson, the Marriott, or the Homewood Suites in Navy Yard. The guest blocks at those hotels are now closed, but the hotels still have availability. There are also other hotels in the nearby vicinity. The hotels are all walking distance to The Bullpen.
