THE HATCHELLS

They met briefly back in 2009 while Lydia was doing a show with North Carolina Theatre and David was jet setting off to South Africa. They reconnected one late, late night on Facebook chat in 2012 (still unclear on who friended who first) and two weeks later went on their first date. After about a month of casually dating, Lydia may or may not have forced David to make things official. David knew that there was something special about this persistent girl, made things official and they have been together ever since.

A Christmas trip up to New York City in December of 2017, David took Lydia to the Central Park Zoo and then to a nature sanctuary that was the perfect blend of the city life (her) and nature (him). David asks Lydia to pose for a selfie so she knew something was up because that was very unlike him and he grabs her hand and gets down on one knee. David said so many sweet words but she heard nothing but "will you marry me?" and after saying "shut up" & "no way" about 50 times she finally said YES!!
