Flight
The Edinburgh airport is located approximately 8 miles away from the city center. From Edinburgh Airport, you basically have three choices to get to the Edinburgh city center – car/taxi, bus, or tram.

The black taxis (cabs) in Edinburgh accept up to 5 passengers and the price to the city centre is between £25 and £35. When you arrive to the Edinburgh airport, follow the signs to the taxi area. Uber is also available.

The bus stops are right outside the terminal. Tickets for the Airlink 100, taking you straight to the city center, can be purchased from the driver as you board using contactless card payment, m-tickets or the exact cash fare. It runs every 10 minutes (or 15 minutes from 1:00 am to 4:30 am), 24 hours a day, and only takes 30 minutes.
Travel Note
Trams are an easy way to get to and from the airport with fast and frequent services to the city center. Trams depart every 7 minutes, with an end-to-end journey of just 30 minutes. The airport tram stop is right outside the main terminal next to the plaza and Edinburgh sign.
